ABOUT US
The resort is located in
the Northern part of the Palawan
Island group in the Philippines.
More precisely, it is at Ocamocam beach, New Busuanga, Busuanga
Island which is 70kms north
of the main town of
Coron (see maps). Backpackers and nature lovers
will especially love Ocamocam and the
surrounding areas. A new road has been built to go directly to Ocamocam Beach Resort
HOW TO GET THERE.
It
is a 45 minute flight from Manila via Cebu
Pacific Airlines to
Busuanga Island airport where there is a 30 minute jeepney shuttle to
Coron. A Super ferry also leaves Manila on Friday evening arriving
early Saturday morning in Coron. Negros
Navigation now leaves Manila on Thursdays for Coron. From Coron hire a
private van or take the 10AM LYSON FAMILY JEEP from the market going
direct to OCAMOCAM (120 pesos each). (Advise thedriverof your return
date).The return trip leaves Ocamocam in the early AM which will get
you to Coron by 7AM. Air Philippines has an afternoon flight with
shuttle vans leaving Coron at 11:30 in the morning. If you pre-book
flights a week or more in advance, the cost is usually up to half price
of the short notice flights.
To get to Ocamocam Beach Resort, you could also hire a Banca from Coron, for a beautiful 3 hour ride passing various islands direct to There are overnight motorcycles for rent in the town of Coron to go to New Busuanga or Buluang.You would need 4 days on Busuanga Island to take in Ocamocam beach and surrounding points of interest including travel time to make your vacation enjoyable. Currency on the island is in Pesos. Get you money changed in Manila ....the exchange rates on the island are not as good
WHAT TO BRING:
Bring your food, preferred drinks and supplies from Coron. You can cook
for
yourself or have it cooked for a small fee. Seafood and rice are
readily available from local fishermen.
THINGS TO DO
Hiking trails
galore. Local bancas can provide trips to the Black Island Caves or the
Caluit Safari Island (Transplanted giraffes ,Zebras, Gazelles
etc...from Africa.
If snorkeling at the reef channel, be careful when
there are high tides going out as there are strong currents. Life
jackets are available for security. There is a concrete
church just down the beach. Further down the beach, missionaries Ed and
Ruth from B.C. Canada
have a school from grades 1 thru 6 for the local children. The
1 km beach is very safe with a genuine sense of Philippine culture and
hospitality.
