ABOUT US
The resort is located in the Northern part of the Palawan Island group in the Philippines. More precisely, it is at Ocamocam beach, New Busuanga, Busuanga Island which is 70kms north of the main town of Coron (see maps). Backpackers and nature lovers will especially love Ocamocam and the surrounding areas. A new road has been built to go directly to Ocamocam Beach Resort
HOW TO GET THERE.
It is a 45 minute flight from Manila via Cebu Pacific Airlines to Busuanga Island airport. Check also for flights by Zest Air, PAL, Air Philippines and Cebu Pacific.There is a 30 minute jeepney shuttle from the airport to Coron. A Super ferry is temporarily out of service but should be back into service to Coron in the Fall of 2010 From Coron hire a private van or take the 10AM LYSON FAMILY JEEP from the market going direct to OCAMOCAM (150 pesos each). (Advise the driver of your return date).The return trip leaves Ocamocam very early in the morning which will get you to Coron by 7AM. Air Philippines has an afternoon flight with shuttle vans leaving Coron at 11:30 in the morning. If you pre-book flights a week or more in advance, the cost is usually up to half price of the short notice flights.
To get to Ocamocam Beach Resort, you could also hire a Banca from Coron, for a beautiful 3 hour ride passing various islands direct to There are also overnight motorcycles for rent in the town of Coron to go to New Busuanga.You would need 4 days on Busuanga Island to take in Ocamocam beach and surrounding points of interest including travel time to make your vacation enjoyable. Currency on the island is in Pesos. Get you money changed in Manila ....the exchange rates on the island are not as good
WHAT TO BRING:
Bring your preferred foods, bottled water and drinks and supplies from Coron if you wish. We do not sell beer or spirits but you can bring your own and consume them on our premisses. You can cook for yourself or have it cooked by our staff for a small fee. Seafood and rice are readily available from local fishermen. In the morning, vegetable vendors come by to sell their products.
THINGS TO DO
Hiking trails galore. Local bancas can provide trips to the Black Island Caves or the Caluit Safari Island (A MUST SEE! Transplanted giraffes ,Zebras, Gazelles etc...from Africa. Check the links page for more information). If snorkeling at the reef channel, be careful when there are high tides going out as there are strong currents. Life jackets are available for security. There is a concrete church just down the beach. Further down the beach, missionaries Ed and Ruth from B.C. Canada have a school from grades 1 thru 6 for the local children. The 1 km beach is very safe with a genuine sense of Philippine culture and hospitality.
We normally have rooms available as this is a quiet, new and unknown area to date but should you wish to make reservations for the resort, contact me by Email. Rooms range from P300 small to P500 for larger accommodations or P200 a day for camping. Lights are Solar and there are Propane stoves.
